In addition to discussing the chipsets that are compatible with AMD's Ryzen 7 Pro 4750G processor, this article will discuss Recommended Motherboards below. OEM-only chipsets that are not available on retail motherboards are outside the scope of this article.
Important considerations regarding this CPU:
AMD's Ryzen Pro CPUs are intended for the business market. They are generally found in pre-built systems and do not support overclocking.
The Ryzen 7 Pro 4750G CPU isn't available in a boxed version. However, you may be able to purchase it in a tray version or as part of a pre-built computer.
Tray versions are sold in bulk, without retail-box packaging. These CPUs are then sometimes sold again, individually.
For AMD's Zen 2-based Ryzen 7 Pro 4750G processor, you'll need a motherboard with an AM4 socket and a compatible chipset.
Motherboards for AMD processors are made with chipsets provided by AMD. Each chipset offers a unique set of capabilities. However, motherboards must explicitly support features and capabilities for you to use them. Verify that a motherboard supports the features and capabilities you desire.
Ryzen 4000-series CPUs, which includes the Ryzen 7 Pro 4750G, are compatible with all 400 and 500-series consumer chipsets. Supported chipsets include the X570, B550, A520, X470, and B450.
The older X370, B350, and A320 300-series chipsets are generally not compatible, out of the box, with Ryzen 4000-series CPUs. However, these 300-series chipsets may be supported by some motherboard manufacturers, when using a specific compatible BIOS.
The X570 is our recommended chipset for the Ryzen 7 Pro 4750G CPU, as it provides the most functionality and the ability to upgrade to a newer AM4 CPU in the future.
Note that the Ryzen 7 Pro 4750G CPU only supports PCIe 3.0.

PCI-Express speeds are based on the PCI-Express version and the number of lanes used. One lane is referred to as x1, two lanes as x2, etc. PCI-Express technically supports up to a width of x32. However, most consumer motherboards have some set of these PCIe widths: x1, x2, x4, x8, x16.
PCI-Express versions are backward compatible, meaning that you can use a PCIe 4.0 graphics card or storage device on a PCIe 3.0 or PCIe 2.0 system. However, PCI-Express will use speeds based on the lowest of the two versions for communication. For example, if you use a PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD with a PCIe 4.0 system, the SSD would be running at PCIe 3.0 speeds.
Reducing the PCIe version would halve the max potential bandwidth. However, you may not experience a performance impact if your device is not using the available bandwidth.

The bandwidth for each PCIe 4.0 lane is 2 GB/s. 2 GB/s per lane means that if you use a PCI-Express 4.0 x16 device, it would have up to 32 GB/s of bandwidth available to it.
NVMe M.2 SSD cards use 2 or 4 lanes, which means they have 4–8 GB/s available to them with PCIe 4.0.
