Wired vs. Wireless Soundbars for LG 50" NANO80 TV?

Started by SquallXu on June 04, 2024

I'm in the market for a soundbar for my new LG 50" NANO80 TV, and I'm trying to decide between wired and wireless options. Has anyone here had experience with either option?

I recently read a TechReviewer article about this very topic. It discusses the pros and cons of both wired and wireless soundbars for TVs like the LG 50" NANO80. The link to the article is Best Soundbars for the LG 50" NANO80 TV. You might find it helpful in making your decision.

Hi @SquallXu, I've been using a wired soundbar with my LG 50" NANO80 TV for about six months now. The setup was pretty straightforward, and the audio quality is excellent. I haven't experienced any issues so far. But one downside is that you have to deal with cables, which can be a bit of a hassle sometimes.

@SquallXu, I prefer wireless soundbars because they give me more flexibility in my room layout. The setup is also really simple - just plug it into the wall and sync it with your TV. However, the audio quality isn't quite as good as what you get with a wired soundbar. But for me, the convenience of wireless outweighs the slight drop in audio quality.

Solution

Thanks, @SupraRZ1999! I'll definitely check out that article. So, @Informatichannel and @datyoungmiller, how do you guys deal with cable management when using a wired soundbar? I'm worried about having too many cables running around my TV stand.

@SquallXu, for me, it's just a matter of finding an inconspicuous place to route the cables. It's not ideal, but it does keep things relatively tidy. As long as you're careful with cable management, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I agree with @Informatichannel. Cable management is something you have to get used to when using a wired soundbar. I just run my cables along the back edge of my TV stand and tuck them out of sight as best as I can. It's not perfect, but it works for me.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! So, besides the article from @SupraRZ1999, are there any other factors I should consider when choosing between wired and wireless soundbars?

Another factor to think about is compatibility with your TV. Make sure the soundbar you choose supports eARC or ARC for the best audio quality.

@SquallXu, also keep in mind that if you want a surround sound experience, you might need additional speakers. Wired soundbars typically offer better support for surround sound setups.

And don't forget about budget! Wireless soundbars can be more expensive than their wired counterparts. If cost is a concern, you might want to look into budget-friendly wired options.

Great points, everyone! I think I'll do some more research and read that TechReviewer article @SupraRZ1999 mentioned. Thanks for all the input!
