Wall Plate Needed for Samsung 70" QE1C TV Wall Mount?

I recently bought a new wall mount for my Samsung 70" QE1C TV, but I'm not sure if I need a wall plate for it. Can anyone tell me if this is necessary and recommend some good options? I've been searching online but haven't found a definitive answer.
