Wall Mount Capacity for LG 83" G2 TV?

Started by TillerTech on May 23, 2024

I recently bought an LG 83" G2 TV and need some advice on finding a wall mount with enough capacity to hold it. Can anyone recommend a good one?

Sure! The TechReviewer article Best Wall Mounts for the LG 83" G2 TV has some excellent recommendations for wall mounts that can support the weight of your LG 83" G2 TV, which is 91 lbs without the stand. I would suggest checking out the SANUS Extra Large TV Wall Mount or the USX MOUNT Full Motion TV Wall Mount for 32-90 Inch TVs. Both should have no trouble holding up your TV.

Solution

Thanks for the recommendations! How do you think a full-motion wall mount like the USX MOUNT would work in terms of installation and overall usage?

A full-motion wall mount, like the one from USX MOUNT, can be a bit more complex to install compared to fixed or tilting mounts. However, once installed, it offers great flexibility in terms of viewing angles. If you have limited space or want to mount your TV in a corner, this might be a good option.

That's helpful to know. I'm also concerned about the weight capacity of the wall mount since my TV is quite heavy. Do these mounts you mentioned have robust enough brackets and hardware?

Yes, both the SANUS Extra Large TV Wall Mount and the USX MOUNT Full Motion TV Wall Mount are designed to hold TVs with weights up to 150 lbs, which should be more than enough for your 91 lb LG 83" G2 TV. The brackets and hardware on these mounts are of high quality and should securely hold your TV.

I've had a wall mount that wasn't very sturdy before, and it caused some damage to my living room when it came crashing down. Is there any way to test the strength of these mounts before buying them?

Unfortunately, there's no foolproof way to test the strength of a wall mount before purchasing. However, you can look for mounts that have good reviews and warranties. Both SANUS and USX MOUNT offer warranty coverage on their products, which gives you some assurance of their quality.

Great advice! I think I'll go with one of the full-motion mounts since my room layout requires more flexibility. Thanks everyone for your input!

You're welcome! If you have any further questions or need additional recommendations, feel free to ask. Good luck with your wall mount installation!
