I've been looking into getting a new monitor and came across the ViewSonic 27" VP2768a. Can anyone share their thoughts on whether it's good for gaming? I'm particularly interested in the refresh rate and response time.
ViewSonic VP2768a for Gaming?

I have this monitor, and I can tell you that the resolution is fantastic for gaming. However, the 60 Hz refresh rate might not be enough for fast-paced games. The response time of 5 ms is decent though.
@Jumonjii, in my experience, the ViewSonic VP2768a works great for most games at lower settings, but you may notice some minor input lag with high-refresh-rate titles or when playing competitively. As for the response time, it's fine for casual gaming.
I've done some research on this monitor, and I found a helpful article on TechReviewer that discusses its suitability for gaming in detail Is the ViewSonic 27" VP2768a Good for Gaming?. The VP2768a has an excellent resolution, but as others have mentioned, the 60 Hz refresh rate might be limiting. It's still a great monitor overall, especially for its price.
@MotiVEsports, thanks for sharing that link! I'm glad to hear it's a good monitor, but I was hoping for something with a higher refresh rate for gaming. Do you think the response time is sufficient?
For casual gamers, the VP2768a should be fine. However, if you're competitive or play fast-paced games at high settings, you might notice some issues due to the 60 Hz refresh rate. The response time is decent, so you won't see much ghosting.
@Jumonjii, I agree with @alexisdevaul. If gaming performance is your top priority, you might want to consider a monitor with a higher refresh rate. However, if you're looking for quality visuals and don't mind sacrificing some performance for the lower price, the VP2768a is a good choice.
@Jumonjii, I would say that while the ViewSonic 27" VP2768a isn't the best for competitive gaming or high-refresh-rate titles, it's still a great monitor for general use and casual gaming. The article I linked earlier goes into more detail about its performance Is the ViewSonic 27" VP2768a Good for Gaming?. If you're on a budget and don't need top-of-the-line specs, it might be a good option.
@MotiVEsports, thanks for the advice! I'll have a look at that article. In the meantime, I think I'll start saving up for a higher refresh rate monitor if I want to get into more competitive gaming in the future.
That's a wise decision, @Jumonjii. It's always better to invest in a good monitor if you're serious about gaming. Good luck with your search!
I agree with both of you! The VP2768a is a great monitor for its price, but for competitive gaming or high-refresh-rate titles, it might not be the best choice. Here's to finding the perfect monitor for your needs!
Exactly! Enjoy the process of finding the perfect monitor, @Jumonjii. And if you have any questions in the future, feel free to ask! Good luck with everything.
