I'm looking for a new gaming monitor and I'm currently trying to decide between the Dell Alienware 25 and the ViewSonic VG2756-4K. Can anyone give me some insight on which one would be better for my needs? I've been reading up on reviews but still can't make up my mind.
ViewSonic VG2756-4K Gaming Response Time

Hey, @ciciplum, I think you should consider your budget first. The Dell Alienware 25 is more expensive than the ViewSonic VG2756-4K. Both have a refresh rate of 60 Hz, but the ViewSonic has a better resolution at 3840 x 2160 which makes a huge difference in gaming.
I recently purchased the ViewSonic VG2756-4K and it's been great so far! The color reproduction is amazing and the build quality feels solid. It's not the cheapest option out there, but you get what you pay for. The response time of 5 ms makes gaming a lot more enjoyable too.
I'm actually in the same boat as @ciciplum. I've been trying to decide between the two monitors myself. I've read this TechReviewer article about the ViewSonic VG2756-4K's response time and it was pretty enlightening. Check it out here: Is the ViewSonic 27" VG2756-4K Good for Gaming?. It suggests that even though it has a 5 ms response time, it performs great in games.
Thanks for the input guys! I'll definitely check out the TechReviewer article @thefastestgun mentioned. The resolution on the ViewSonic does seem tempting, but I'm also worried about the refresh rate since my friend swears by a higher Hz monitor for gaming.
I think it boils down to personal preference and what you're primarily using your monitor for. If you mostly play games that aren't too fast-paced, then the ViewSonic VG2756-4K might be just fine. But if you're into competitive shooters or other high-speed games, a higher refresh rate monitor might be better.
That's true @Mythonaut9. I'm more of a casual gamer and don't really play fast-paced games like first-person shooters or racing games. Based on your experience, would you say the ViewSonic VG2756-4K is still suitable for my needs?
Absolutely! The ViewSonic VG2756-4K would be more than enough for a casual gamer. You'll enjoy the high resolution and color reproduction it offers. And if you ever decide to upgrade to more intense gaming, you can always sell this monitor and get a higher refresh rate one.
That's good to know @redrose1148. I think I'm leaning towards getting the ViewSonic VG2756-4K now. Thanks for all the advice everyone!
You're welcome, @ciciplum! I hope you enjoy your new monitor. And if you ever want to dive into more competitive gaming, keep the TechReviewer article I mentioned in mind. It might come in handy then.
