ViewSonic VA2459-Smh - Full-Motion vs Fixed Mount?

Started by theeyeofprovidence on July 09, 2024

I've heard that the ViewSonic VA2459-smh is a great monitor, but I'm unsure whether to go for a full-motion desk mount or a fixed one. Any thoughts on this?

I have a ViewSonic VA2459-smh monitor as well, and I used Monitor Mounts & Stands for ViewSonic's 24" VA2459-smh to compare the two options before deciding on a full-motion mount. It really depends on your specific needs and preferences. For me, the extra flexibility was worth the investment.

For me, a full-motion mount offers more flexibility and adaptability in terms of positioning, which is really useful when I'm working long hours. Plus, it saves space on my desk too.

I recently got a ViewSonic VA2459-smh monitor, and I went with a fixed mount because I didn't want to spend extra money on a full-motion one. So far, it's been working fine for me, but I can see how having a full-motion mount could be more convenient.

That's helpful, @DemonheadClash. The article you shared gives some great insights. What were the main reasons that led you to choose a full-motion mount?

@theeyeofprovidence, for me it was all about the added flexibility in terms of height and tilt adjustments, as well as the space-saving aspect. A full-motion mount just seemed like a better fit for my workspace.

I agree with both of you; having the ability to adjust the monitor's position without needing to move the whole desk is quite convenient. However, I also understand that a fixed mount could be more budget-friendly.

Yes, @Nanomachines-Son, it all comes down to personal preferences and priorities. If you value adaptability and space-saving, then a full-motion mount might be worth considering. But if you're on a tight budget or prefer stability over flexibility, a fixed mount should do the job just fine.

Great points, everyone. I think I'll take some time to weigh the pros and cons before making my decision. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
