Solution

Thanks, @jdthunderhawk. I'll take a look at that. From what you've said, it seems like VESA size and weight are important factors to consider when choosing a stand or mount?

Exactly, @salsita96. The VESA size is the standardized screw hole pattern on the back of your monitor, which is crucial for compatibility with different mounts and stands. And yes, the weight of the monitor is also an essential factor since some stands may not be able to support heavier screens.

I've been using a HUANUO stand for my ViewSonic VA708a for a while now, and it's been working great! It's sturdy and provides good adjustability.

That sounds like a good choice, @Moose1956. But what about the VESA size compatibility of that stand? And does it support the weight of the VA708a?

The HUANUO stand is compatible with a VESA size of 100 x 100 mm and can support a monitor weighing up to 22 lbs. So, it should work perfectly for your ViewSonic VA708a.

Another option you might want to consider is the AVLT single monitor arm desk mount. It's designed for monitors with VESA sizes ranging from 75 x 75 mm to 100 x 100 mm and can hold screens weighing up to 33 lbs.

Thanks, @MesmerizingHS and @jdthunderhawk. I'm leaning towards the HUANUO stand right now but will definitely keep the AVLT mount in mind. By the way, how's your experience with the HUANUO been?

It's been great! I've had no issues with it so far, and it has helped declutter my desk nicely.

That's awesome to hear, @Moose1956. I think I'll go ahead and get the HUANUO stand. Thanks for all your insights everyone!
