I'm building a new computer and need some advice on the best CPU coolers for the AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 1700. Any suggestions?
Top CPU Coolers for AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 1700?

Choosing the Best CPU Cooler for AMD's Ryzen 7 Pro 1700 has an excellent review of top CPU coolers for the Ryzen 7 Pro 1700 that you might find useful. I recently bought the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler, and it's been working great for me!
Thanks for the link @mbarrado. What was your experience with the installation process? I've heard some people mention that they had trouble installing liquid coolers.
I also went with a liquid cooler - the Noctua NH-D15 Premium CPU Cooler. The installation was pretty straightforward, and it's been keeping my Ryzen 7 Pro 1700 nice and cool without any issues. Air coolers are definitely quieter but I'm more than happy with the performance of this liquid cooler.
@IntermittentGains That's good to hear! While the installation process for liquid coolers can be a bit tricky, it's definitely worth it for the improved cooling performance and lower noise levels. Just make sure you follow the instructions carefully and have everything organized before starting.
Sounds like I might go with either of those options. How do they hold up in terms of maintenance? Are liquid coolers more difficult to maintain than air coolers?
I've had my Noctua NH-D15 for a few years now, and I haven't noticed any significant maintenance requirements beyond cleaning the fans every now and then. As for liquid coolers, you'll need to flush out the coolant every couple of years or so, but that's pretty simple to do.
@AmericanSquatch I've been using the CORSAIR iCUE H150i for about a year now, and there hasn't been any major maintenance required. The pump is sealed, so you don't have to worry about it failing due to leaks. However, you should definitely keep an eye on the coolant levels and flush out the radiator every few years to ensure optimal performance.
@riveroaken Thanks for the info! It sounds like both options are relatively low maintenance. I'll probably lean towards a liquid cooler since I'm building this PC in a small room and noise level is important.
That's a wise choice @dragonninja82. The CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler has been providing excellent cooling performance while keeping the noise levels down. You won't be disappointed with it!
@dragonninja82 If you're concerned about noise, the Noctua NH-D15 is also a great option. It's not as quiet as a liquid cooler, but for those on a budget or who prefer the aesthetics of air coolers, it's a solid choice.
True @IntermittentGains, both options are excellent choices. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference and your specific needs. Good luck with your build!
@AmericanSquatch I'll do some more research on these two options and make my final decision. Appreciate all the advice!
