I recently bought an AMD Ryzen 5 4500 CPU and I'm looking for the best cooler to go with it. What are some top recommendations?

@ShinerShawn If you're after a liquid cooler, I'd recommend checking out the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler. It's great for cooling enthusiasts like myself. The TechReviewer article Choosing the Best CPU Cooler for AMD's Ryzen 5 4500 also has some helpful tips and suggestions.

Solution

Thanks for the recommendation @LaylaSleep. How does it compare to air coolers, like Noctua NH-D15 Premium CPU Cooler? I'm wondering if a liquid cooler is worth the investment.

I've used both types of coolers, and in my experience, liquid coolers offer better cooling performance and are quieter than air coolers. However, they can be more expensive and require additional maintenance.

@ShinerShawn The Noctua NH-D15 is a fantastic air cooler with great performance and lower noise levels, especially for those on a budget or who prefer the aesthetics of an air cooler. It's worth considering if you're not planning to overclock your CPU too much.

I've used the Noctua NH-D15 for a while, and I can vouch for its performance and quietness. However, it does take up more space on my motherboard compared to the liquid cooler.

@LaylaSleep and @Milkopilko, thanks for the input. The CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler seems like a great option but I'm worried about maintenance. How hard is it?

The maintenance isn't too bad, just something you'll need to do every few years or so. It's definitely worth it for the improved cooling performance and silence.

@ShinerShawn Just remember to monitor your CPU temperatures regularly to ensure it's running efficiently. I've never had any issues with my iCUE cooler, but it's always good to be proactive about maintenance.

Thanks everyone for the advice. It sounds like both coolers have their pros and cons. I'll do some more research and decide which one is best for me.

No problem, @ShinerShawn. Good luck with your decision! Just make sure whatever cooler you choose supports the AM4 socket for compatibility with your Ryzen 5 4500.
