I've recently bought a new PC and got the Intel Core i5-10400 CPU. Can anyone recommend some top chipsets that would work well with it? Looking for something that'll give me good performance.

@sugarron, here's the TechReviewer article Which Chipsets Work With Intel's Core i5-10400 CPU? that I mentioned earlier. It provides detailed information about each of the chipsets and their compatibility with your Intel Core i5-10400 CPU. I hope you find it helpful!

The Z490 chipset should work great with your Intel Core i5-10400 CPU. It's compatible and will provide you with good performance. I'd recommend the ASUS Prime B460M-A, which offers a nice balance between features and price.

@sugarron, I would also suggest looking at the 500-series chipsets like Z590, H570, B560, and H510 for your Intel Core i5-10400. The TechReviewer article Which Chipsets Work With Intel's Core i5-10400 CPU? provides an in-depth analysis of these chipsets and their compatibility with this CPU.

Thanks, @lumberjackshirt and @bubblezombie! I wasn't aware that the Z590 chipset was compatible. Can you guys tell me more about it? And also, what kind of performance can I expect from these chipsets?

Hey there, @sugarron! The Z590 chipset is one of the newer ones, launched in Q1 2021. It supports PCIe 4.0 and has a maximum memory overclocking limit. This should provide excellent performance for gaming, streaming, and other daily tasks.

@sugarron, another option to consider would be the B460 chipset. I've been using it with my Intel Core i5-10400 CPU and it's worked great! It has good features at a more affordable price point.
