I'm looking to buy a soundbar to pair with my new Sony 55" BRAVIA X85J TV. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences with the Sony HT-X8500? I've seen it mentioned in some discussions but haven't found many reviews.

Just a couple of things to consider, @bubbaturk. One is Bluetooth capability - it's really convenient for wirelessly streaming audio from your phone or tablet. And the other is HDMI video/
Another thing to keep in mind is surround sound formats. Some soundbars support Dolby Atmos, DTS, and DTS:X, which can provide a more immersive experience. It's definitely something to look into if you're into movies or gaming.
