Sony 55" BRAVIA XR A80K HDMI Ports?
Started by Jibbsandchips on May 20, 2024
Hi there, I recently bought a Sony 55" BRAVIA XR A80K, so I can give you some insights! It has two HDMI 2.1 ports and two HDMI 2.0 ports. The HDMI 2.1 ports support higher resolutions up to 10K and offer faster refresh rates for other resolutions compared to HDMI 2.0. Additionally, they support features like Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Dynamic HDR, Variable Refresh Rate (VVR), Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC), Quick Media Switching (QMS), and Quick Frame Transport (QFT).
Thanks for the info, @seifersam. I've been looking into compatible HDMI cables for this TV. I found a TechReviewer article that discusses various options and their suitability for the Sony 55" BRAVIA XR A80K. Check it out here: HDMI Capabilities of the Sony 55" BRAVIA XR A80K TV.
That's really helpful! @Aquamentin and @seifersam. What about refresh rates? Does anyone know the refresh rate of this TV?
I'm also considering the Sony 55" BRAVIA XR A80K. The native refresh rate is indeed 120 Hz. This means that the screen can redraw up to 120 times per second, resulting in incredibly smooth motion for fast-paced content like sports and gaming.
Wow, that's great to know! I'm particularly interested in VRR support. Does this TV support Variable Refresh Rate?
Hi @Jibbsandchips, the Sony 55" BRAVIA XR A80K does indeed support Variable Refresh Rate (VVR). This feature will help eliminate screen tearing, stuttering, and input lag for a more responsive gaming experience.
I'm glad to hear that VRR is supported on this TV. That's a huge plus for me since I do a lot of gaming. Thanks again, everyone!
