I'm building a new PC with an Intel Core i9-10900KF CPU, and I need some advice on choosing a power supply. I've been looking at semi-modular and fully modular PSUs, but I can't decide which one to go for. Can you guys share your thoughts?

Hey @TitoTheTRex, when it comes down to choosing between a semi-modular and fully modular PSU for the Intel Core i9-10900KF build, there are several factors to consider like efficiency rating, compatibility with your system's hardware, cable management, and overall budget. Fully modular PSUs offer more flexibility and easier installation but may be more expensive than semi-modular ones. Have you checked out this TechReviewer article? Solution

I've read that fully modular power supplies are better for cable management, as they come with all the necessary cables and can be easily customized according to your needs. This can help keep my PC clean and organized, especially since I'm building a high-end system.

Yeah, @IntermittentGains, fully modular PSUs do offer better cable management options. However, it's essential to consider other factors like efficiency and price as well. For instance, the Corsair SF series is a great semi-modular PSU that offers excellent performance at an affordable price point. On the other hand, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 Series is a fully modular PSU with 80+ Gold certification, which ensures energy efficiency.

@Chreativ That's true. It really depends on your personal preferences and specific build requirements. In my case, I'm leaning towards a fully modular PSU due to the better cable management and ease of installation. However, I'll still consider other factors like efficiency and price as well.

Thanks for the input everyone! Based on what you've shared, it seems that both semi-modular and fully modular PSUs have their advantages and disadvantages. I'll take these factors into consideration when making my decision.

Just a quick note to add, remember to always choose a PSU from a reputable brand to ensure reliability and longevity. Avoid cheap knockoffs as they may not deliver the required wattage or could even damage your components.

Good point @effervescentadolesce. It's crucial to select a trusted brand like Corsair, Thermaltake, or EVGA for your power supply to prevent potential issues down the line.

Agreed. I'll definitely keep that in mind while choosing my PSU. Thanks everyone for the advice!
