I recently bought a Samsung 50" AU8000 TV and I'm curious about the HDMI performance. Can you guys tell me more about it? I've heard that it doesn't support HDMI 2.1, is that true?

Yeah, that's correct. The Samsung AU8000 doesn't support HDMI 2.1. It only has three HDMI 2.0 ports.
HDMI Capabilities of the Samsung 50" AU8000 TV provides a detailed overview of the HDMI performance of the Samsung 50" AU8000 TV. It includes information on the number of HDMI ports, refresh rate, and whether it supports features like eARC and VRR.
Thanks for sharing that link, @DannehDub. So based on what I've read, it seems that while the TV doesn't support HDMI 2.1, it still offers some good features. What's your experience with this TV?
I've been using mine for a few months now and it's been great for my needs. I don't do any gaming, so I haven't missed not having VRR or higher refresh rates. For watching movies and shows, the 60Hz refresh rate has been more than adequate.
That's good to know, @LanaAndNeal. I mostly watch movies too, so it sounds like this TV might be a good fit for me.
Just remember that while it doesn't have some of the advanced HDMI features, you still get great picture and sound quality. The Samsung AU8000 is known for its excellent color reproduction and smart features.
I had the same question about this TV's HDMI performance a few months ago. I've been using an Anker 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable with it and haven't faced any issues. It's worked flawlessly for streaming shows and movies.
That's great to hear, @HyperionGM. It's good to know that the recommended cables work well with this TV.
Thanks everyone for your insights. I think I'll go ahead and get this TV. Appreciate all the help!
