Hey, I've been looking into getting a new TV and I was wondering if the Samsung 50" CU8000 is any good? Any advice would be great!

Yeah, it's decent. Just make sure you understand its limitations before buying one.
One limitation that you should know about is that it does not support HDMI 2.1 or eARC. The refresh rate is also limited to 60 Hz, which may not be ideal for fast-paced content like gaming or sports. Check out this article for more information HDMI Capabilities of the Samsung 50" CU8000 TV.
Oh, I wasn't aware of those limitations. Thanks for the heads up! What cables would you recommend for this TV then?
The Anker 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable (6.6 ft) and Monoprice 8K Certified Braided HDMI 2.1 Cable are both good options. They're backward compatible with older HDMI versions, so they should work fine with the Samsung 50" CU8000.
That's great to know! Thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely look into those cables.
I've had a Samsung 50" CU8000 TV for a while now and it works well for me, but I do miss having HDMI 2.1 support for gaming purposes.
That's good to hear though! And yeah, the lack of HDMI 2.1 is a bummer for gaming.
It definitely can be limiting if you're into gaming. But for general use and streaming, it works fine.
True enough. It's just something to keep in mind if someone is planning on using their TV primarily for gaming purposes.
Thanks everyone for the input! I'll make sure to weigh all these factors before making a decision.
