Samsung 49" ViewFinity S95UA Gaming Advantages?

From my experience, the resolution and color accuracy on this monitor are excellent for general use and even for content creation. However, when it comes to gaming, I'm not sure how well it performs compared to other monitors with higher refresh rates. What do you guys think?
The Samsung 49" ViewFinity S95UA has some advantages for gaming, especially the ultra-wide screen and high resolution which can provide an immersive experience. But when it comes to specific gaming aspects like refresh rate, it only offers a 60Hz refresh rate, which might not be enough for competitive or fast-paced games. For smoother gameplay, you might want to look at monitors with at least 120Hz refresh rates. Thanks, @Deranzeef. I think I'll take a closer look at other options like those you mentioned. It seems like the ViewFinity S95UA might not be the best choice for me if my primary focus is gaming.
I agree with @Deranzeef that the 60Hz refresh rate could be a drawback if you're mainly playing competitive games. But if your gameplay involves more relaxed genres or you just enjoy watching movies and series on it, I don't think the 60Hz would be much of an issue.
I've been using the ViewFinity S95UA for a while now, and I can confirm that it's excellent for less competitive games like RPGs and strategy games. The ultra-wide screen really makes a difference when playing those kinds of games. But for fast-paced games like FPS or MOBA, I do find myself wanting a higher refresh rate monitor.
That's true, @ItzXyles. It all comes down to personal preferences and the types of games you usually play. For example, if you enjoy immersive experiences in RPGs, strategy games, and movies, then an ultra-wide screen like on the S95UA could be very beneficial. But for competitive gamers or those who prefer smoother gameplay in fast-paced titles, a higher refresh rate monitor would likely be more suitable.
Thanks for your input, everyone. I guess I need to do some more research and find out which features are most important to me in a gaming monitor. The ultra-wide screen does appeal to me, but the 60Hz refresh rate is a bit of a concern.
@A-Thin-Veil, you could also consider monitors with adjustable refresh rates (FreeSync or G-Sync) that can provide variable refresh rates based on your GPU's output. This feature can help reduce input lag and tearing in games, which could be beneficial for both competitive and casual gamers.
Exactly, @abbylanebeetle. And don't forget to check out the response time of the monitor, as it also plays a role in reducing ghosting and providing smoother gameplay. So, it's definitely worth doing some research on different models and their specifications before making a decision. The TechReviewer article I mentioned earlier Is the Samsung 49" ViewFinity S95UA Good for Gaming? can be helpful for that.
Thanks, everyone. I'll take these factors into account when I continue my search for the perfect gaming monitor. Appreciate your insights!
