I've also been using the Ryzen 7 5800X for some time now, and I must say that I'm quite satisfied with its performance in modern games. If you're looking for a powerful processor for gaming, I would definitely recommend considering the 5800X.

Hey @folioweekly, the Ryzen 7 5800X is an excellent option for gaming! It has 8 cores, which should provide smooth performance in most modern titles. Additionally, its boost clock speed of up to 4.7 GHz and 32 MB L3 cache will ensure fast gameplay. Thanks for the info @EskeetmoJoe. I did look at the article you linked, and it seems promising. The only concern I have is about its TDP (Thermal Design Power). The 5800X has a TDP of 105W which seems quite high compared to Intel's offerings. How do you feel about that?

@folioweekly, the higher TDP isn't necessarily a bad thing. It means that the CPU can handle more power and deliver better performance under load. However, it does mean you'll need a good cooling system to prevent overheating. If you're building your own PC, consider investing in a high-quality cooler or water cooling solution.

@folioweekly, regarding TDP, it's true that 105W is higher than some Intel CPUs, but remember that AMD CPUs have also been known for being more efficient and running cooler than Intel counterparts. In our experience with the Ryzen 7 5800X, we haven't had any issues with overheating or power consumption. It all depends on your specific build and how well you can manage heat.

I've been using the Ryzen 7 5800X for a few months now, and it has been great! I play a variety of modern games, from FPS to RPGs, and have had no issues running them at high settings. The CPU does get warm after extended gaming sessions, but my cooler handles it well without any problems.
