I've been looking at these two CPUs for a while now and can't seem to decide which one to get! Has anyone had any experience with them or know the major differences?
Ryzen 7 5800 vs. 5700G Differences?

Yeah, I have both of them in my system. The 5800 has been working great for me! I did read an article that explains the differences between the two in detail. You can check it out at AMD Ryzen 7 5800 vs. AMD Ryzen 7 5700G.
Thanks for sharing, @MatryxMercy! That article was really helpful. So, based on what you said and the article, would you recommend getting the 5800 or the 5700G? I'm more into gaming than anything else.
I've had the 5700G for a while now, and it's been serving me well for both gaming and general use. The performance difference between the two isn't that significant, especially if you're not heavily into gaming or don't require the latest graphics cards.
Just wanted to share my experience with the 5800 - I was really impressed with its performance in games, particularly with how smooth everything runs. The article @MatryxMercy mentioned is spot on; it's definitely worth a read if you're trying to decide between these two.
So, what about overclocking? Is that something that can be done with either of these processors?
Both the 5800 and 5700G have great support for overclocking! It just depends on how much you want to push them. The 5800's base frequency is slightly lower than the 5700G, but it still has a high single-core boost frequency.
That's true. I've been able to get my 5700G to run at higher frequencies than its stock settings without any issues.
Alright, thanks for all the input! It looks like both options have their merits. I think I'll keep looking into these and maybe check out some benchmarks as well.
Sounds good, @lisacortez! Just remember to take your time and make an informed decision based on what you need. Good luck with your search!
Yeah, good luck! And don't forget to read the article @MatryxMercy mentioned for a more in-depth comparison.
Absolutely! The article really helped me make my choice, so I hope it can do the same for you, @lisacortez.
