I recently bought a new AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 5650GE and I'm looking for the best CPU cooler for it. Does anyone have any recommendations? I've heard the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler is great, but I'm not sure if it's the best option for me.
Ryzen 5 Pro 5650GE CPU Cooler Recommendations?
Started by Liekefeline on June 18, 2024
Hi @Liekefeline, the Ryzen 5 Pro 5650GE has a TDP of 48 watts, so you'll want to find a cooler that can handle at least that much heat. The CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler is an excellent option for liquid cooling enthusiasts and it should work great with your Ryzen 5 Pro 5650GE. Here's a link to the TechReviewer article that discusses the best CPU coolers for this processor: Choosing the Best CPU Cooler for AMD's Ryzen 5 Pro 5650GE.
Thanks for the advice, @lousiana. I've been looking at both air coolers and liquid coolers, but I'm not sure what the main differences are. Can anyone explain the pros and cons of each?
Sure, @Liekefeline, air coolers use heatsinks and fans to dissipate heat, while liquid coolers use a coolant-filled loop with a radiator and fans. Air coolers are usually more affordable and easier to set up, but they can sometimes be noisier. Liquid coolers tend to be quieter and offer better performance, but they're also more expensive and require some assembly.
That's helpful, @Themainfox14. I'm also wondering about the mounting brackets for my Ryzen 5 Pro 5650GE. Do I need to worry about that?
Good question, @Liekefeline. The cooler you choose should include a compatible mounting bracket for your CPU. Most coolers support the AM4 socket, which is used by the Ryzen 5 Pro 5650GE.
Thanks for the info, everyone. Based on what I've learned here, it sounds like the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler might be a good choice for me. However, I'm still a bit concerned about noise levels. Can anyone recommend a quiet air cooler that would also work well with my Ryzen 5 Pro 5650GE?
@Liekefeline, if you're looking for a quiet air cooler, the Noctua NH-D15 is an excellent option. It has great performance and is known for being very quiet. You might want to check out the TechReviewer article that @lousiana linked earlier. They discuss both liquid and air coolers in detail.
@RambooPanda. I'll definitely look into the Noctua NH-D15. The more I learn about CPU cooling, the more I realize how important it is for maintaining my Ryzen 5 Pro 5650GE's performance. Any tips on how to choose a cooler based on noise levels, size, lighting, and price?
Sure thing, @Liekefeline. When it comes to noise levels, larger fans tend to be quieter than smaller ones. You can also configure your motherboard's BIOS to use specific fan speeds at certain temperatures for a near-silent computer while idle.
