Hi @gregsonBM, the Ryzen 5 3600XT can be a great choice for a budget gaming PC! The TechReviewer article Is the Ryzen 5 3600XT CPU Good for Gaming? gives an overview of its performance, and it's got some impressive specs.
I've been using the 3600XT for a while now, and it works wonderfully. It's really good at handling most games at 1080p without breaking a sweat. I'd say go for it if you're on a budget!
That's great to hear, @Maddog22. What about overclocking? Can I expect any significant performance boost with this CPU?
The 3600XT does support some level of overclocking, but be prepared that you might need a high-end cooler to maintain the boosted frequencies. You can check out more in-depth details in the TechReviewer article Is the Ryzen 5 3600XT CPU Good for Gaming?.
I've been using the Ryzen 5 3600 for a little longer, and it's quite comparable to the 3600XT. Both are great for budget gaming PCs, but if you have the opportunity to get a better cooler, go for the 3600XT.
Thanks for the input, @Mattathon. I was considering an aftermarket cooler, so maybe that'll help me make up my mind!
If you're looking for a budget-friendly option, the Noctua NH-U9S is a great choice. It's not the most eye-catching, but it provides excellent cooling and won't break the bank.
I've tried some other coolers in the past, but nothing compares to the NZXT Kraken X63 for maintaining those high boost frequencies. It's a bit pricey though.
Those are some great suggestions! I'll definitely look into both of those coolers. Thanks everyone!
No problem, @gregsonBM. Just remember that choosing the right CPU cooler is crucial for getting the most out of your Ryzen 5 3600XT. Good luck with your build!
