I've recently bought a new AMD Ryzen 5 3500X CPU and I'm looking for the best air or liquid cooler to go with it. Has anyone here used either type of cooler with this processor? Any recommendations would be great!
Ryzen 5 3500X: Best Air/Liquid Coolers?
Started by bigdaddycelso on May 27, 2024
Hi, @bigdaddycelso! I've been using the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler with my Ryzen 5 3500X, and it's been fantastic. The liquid cooling offers great performance while keeping noise levels low. You can check out a detailed review of this cooler in a TechReviewer article: Choosing the Best CPU Cooler for AMD's Ryzen 5 3500X.
Thanks for the suggestion, @VastHybrid! I'm considering both air and liquid coolers since they have their advantages and disadvantages. Can anyone share their experiences with the Noctua NH-D15 as an air cooler? I'm curious to know how it performs on the Ryzen 5 3500X.
Hey @bigdaddycelso, I've used the Noctua NH-D15 with my Ryzen 5 3500X, and it works great! The cooling performance is excellent, and the noise levels are surprisingly low for such a high-performance air cooler. It's worth noting that you'll need to make sure your case has enough space for this cooler since it's quite tall.
That's good to know, @Aquamentin. I was also looking into closed-loop liquid coolers like the CORSAIR H150i but wasn't sure if they'd be worth the extra cost. What are your thoughts on the performance and noise levels of the H150i compared to the NH-D15?
@bigdaddycelso, the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler provides better cooling performance than the Noctua NH-D15, but it does come at a higher cost. However, if you're willing to spend more for better heat management and lower noise levels under heavy workloads, I'd recommend going for the liquid cooler. Plus, the LED display on the H150i is a nice touch! But ultimately, it depends on your budget and what you value most in a cooler.
Thanks for the input, @Aquamentin. It seems like both coolers are excellent choices, but I'm leaning towards the liquid cooler due to its superior cooling performance. However, I'm still unsure if I should go with the H150i or another option. Can anyone suggest some other great AIO liquid coolers?
Hey @bigdaddycelso, you might want to check out the EVGA CLC 240. It's a great AIO liquid cooler that offers excellent cooling performance and relatively low noise levels. I've used it with my Ryzen 5 3500X, and it works like a charm!
Another option to consider is the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML360R. It has a large radiator and three fans for great cooling performance. The noise levels are also quite reasonable.
Thanks @Coolairforceschedule and @VastHybrid! I'll definitely look into those options as well. I'm still debating between them and the H150i. Can anyone share any experiences with these other AIO liquid coolers in terms of cooling performance, noise levels, and overall value?
Sure, @bigdaddycelso. I've used the EVGA CLC 240 with my Ryzen 5 3500X, and it provided excellent cooling performance while maintaining relatively low noise levels. The build quality is also top-notch. However, when comparing it to the CORSAIR H150i, the H150i has a slight edge in terms of cooling performance and features like the LED display.
I've had a chance to use the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML360R as well, and it's a solid choice for cooling my Ryzen 5 3500X. The large radiator and three fans ensure excellent heat management without producing excessive noise. It might not have all the fancy features of the H150i or EVGA CLC 240, but it gets the job done effectively.
Thanks everyone for your valuable insights! I appreciate the suggestions and experiences shared here. I think I'll go ahead and try out the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler based on the positive feedback. However, I'll also keep an eye on the other options mentioned in case they catch my attention in the future.
Great choice, @bigdaddycelso! You won't be disappointed with the H150i. If you have any questions or need assistance with installation or setup, feel free to reach out to me. Good luck with your new cooler!
Thanks for all the help and advice, everyone! I'm excited to get my new liquid cooler up and running. I'll post an update here once it's installed and I've had a chance to test it out.
Awesome, @bigdaddycelso! Looking forward to hearing about your experience with the H150i. If you have any questions or need help, just let us know!
