I've been looking at getting a new CPU, and I'm wondering if the Ryzen 3 Pro 5350G is any good for gaming. What are your thoughts on it?
Ryzen 3 Pro 5350G vs. Competing CPUs for Gaming

I recently got one, and it's working great! The TechReviewer article Is the Ryzen 3 Pro 5350G CPU Good for Gaming? provides a comprehensive overview of its performance.
That's helpful, thanks @dcerisano. From what I understand, the base frequency is 4.0 GHz, but does that mean the single-core max boost goes up to 4.2 GHz?
Yes, you're right about the base and boost frequencies. The Pro 5350G has a 4.0 GHz base frequency and a 4.2 GHz single-core max boost frequency.
I've been using a Ryzen 5 3600 for gaming, and it performs pretty well. However, I'm not sure if the Pro 5350G would be better or worse for gaming compared to other CPUs in its class.
That's interesting @SupraRZ1999. So you think the Pro 5350G might be just okay for gaming? What about the PCIe support and L3 cache?
The PCIe 3.0 support can be limiting, especially when it comes to using the latest SSDs and GPUs. As for the L3 cache, an 8 MB cache isn't ideal for gaming performance.
I've been playing games on a Pro 5350G for a few weeks now, and I must say that it's decent for most games, but some high-end titles do require more power.
Thanks for the input everyone. It sounds like the Pro 5350G is alright for gaming, but there might be better options out there depending on my needs and budget.
Yeah, @CLAYMOR3, it's always good to do some research and compare different CPUs before making a decision. Good luck with your search!
