I'm looking for the best cooler for my new AMD Ryzen 3 Pro 3200G CPU. Any recommendations? I've heard that choosing the right cooler is important for performance.
Ryzen 3 Pro 3200G - Best Coolers?
Started by bucklodger on June 06, 2024
Hi @bucklodger, sure! When it comes to the Ryzen 3 Pro 3200G, you'll want a cooler with a TDP that matches or exceeds its peak TDP of 88 watts. I recently wrote an article about this on TechReviewer, and you can check it out here: Choosing the Best CPU Cooler for AMD's Ryzen 3 Pro 3200G. It covers some top options for your CPU.
Thanks @DylanOzanich! I've been looking into the Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler and the Thermaltake TOUGHLIQUID 360 ARGB Sync. Can you tell me more about these?
Hey @bucklodger, both of those are great options. The CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE is a top-notch AIO liquid cooler with an impressive performance and nice LCD display. On the other hand, the Thermaltake TOUGHLIQUID 360 ARGB Sync is also a solid choice with its large radiator size and RGB lighting.
Another option to consider could be the Noctua NH-D15, which is a fantastic air cooler that's known for its low noise levels. It might not have the visual appeal of some liquid coolers, but it provides excellent cooling performance without all the additional hassle.
Thanks for the input @surprisinglylittle and @DylanOzanich. I'm also concerned about noise levels since my PC is in my bedroom. How do these options compare in terms of noise?
I've used both the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE and the Thermaltake TOUGHLIQUID 360 ARGB Sync, and I can tell you that they're both quite good at keeping temperatures low. However, the iCUE H150i has a slight edge when it comes to noise levels - it's quieter than the Toughliquid.
Great, thanks @SlayerSystems. That helps me narrow down my choices. What about installation and compatibility? I have an NZXT H510 case, and I want to make sure that the cooler will fit nicely without causing any issues.
Hey @bucklodger, both of the liquid coolers you mentioned should work well in your NZXT H510 case. The iCUE H150i ELITE has a compact radiator size that fits perfectly within most mid-tower cases, and the Toughliquid 360 is also designed to be compatible with various case sizes.
Just remember to check for CPU compatibility as well. You'll need a cooler that supports the AM4 socket. All the coolers I mentioned earlier are AM4-compatible, so you should be good to go.
Thanks again, everyone! Based on your recommendations and experiences, it seems like the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE might be my best bet for a quiet and efficient cooler for my Ryzen 3 Pro 3200G. I'll check it out further and see if it fits well in my case.
That's awesome, @bucklodger. You won't be disappointed with the iCUE H150i ELITE! If you have any questions later on, feel free to ask us here. Good luck with your build!
