I'm looking into getting a new CPU and came across the Ryzen 3 3300X. Has anyone had any experience with it? I've heard mixed reviews.
Ryzen 3 3300X for Gaming - Overrated?

Yeah, I got one a few months back. It works great for me! You can find more details in this TechReviewer article Is the Ryzen 3 3300X CPU Good for Gaming?.
I'd say it's decent, but not the best out there. I'm playing most of my games at medium settings though.
That's true, and also depends on the game. Some run smoothly even on high settings, while others stutter a bit. I guess it really varies from person to person.
For me, the 4 cores are okay but I wish it had more L3 cache. I'm thinking of upgrading my CPU soon.
Yeah, I noticed that too. So, do you think going for a higher core count would make a significant difference in gaming performance?
Honestly, I don't think having more cores makes much difference in most games. I've been using the 3300X and haven't had any issues with my gaming setup.
That's interesting! So it seems like the single-core max boost frequency might be more important for gaming performance?
Yeah, that makes sense. The 4.3 GHz single-core max boost frequency of the Ryzen 3 3300X sounds impressive!
Definitely, and it's also good to know about its overclocking support. That could help improve the performance even further.
True! I'm not really into overclocking though, but it's nice to have that option available.
Thanks for all the input guys! So overall, would you say the Ryzen 3 3300X is worth buying for gaming?
It depends on your specific needs and budget. If you want a decent CPU for casual gaming and don't mind tweaking some settings, it should be fine.
I agree with @IconistSF. The Ryzen 3 3300X might not be the best out there, but it's definitely not overrated either. It does the job well enough for most gamers.
