Thanks for the input! I'll definitely check out the article you mentioned AMD Ryzen 3 3300X vs. AMD Ryzen 5 3400G. It's helpful to know that the differences aren't massive, but it seems like the 3300X might be a slightly better choice for video editing tasks.

Both are decent choices, but they're quite similar in terms of core counts and thread counts. The Ryzen 3 3300X has a higher base frequency and single-core max boost frequency, which could be beneficial for video editing.

Yeah, I was looking at the L3 cache capacity as well. The 3400G seems to have less cache, which might not be ideal for heavy video editing tasks.

That's true. DDR4 support is also important, and the 3300X has a higher maximum stock speed. PCIe version is another factor to consider; the 3300X supports PCIe 4.0 while the 3400G only has PCIe 3.0.

I've been reading up on these processors in a TechReviewer article AMD Ryzen 3 3300X vs. AMD Ryzen 5 3400G. It gives a good overview of their performance and how they compare to each other. The 3300X does have an edge in certain areas, but overall, the differences aren't huge. You might want to consider your specific needs and budget.

Solution

Yeah, the 3300X does seem to have an edge in some areas that could be beneficial for video editing. However, I think it ultimately depends on your specific workload and how much you're willing to spend.

That's true. It's also important to consider future upgrades or changes in my workflow. I might want to switch to a more powerful system down the line, so it could be worth investing in the 3300X if it offers better scalability.

Good point! Scalability is definitely something to keep in mind. I'm currently using a PCIe 3.0 motherboard, which might limit my options with the 3400G, but if I upgrade my entire system in the future, the 3300X could be more future-proof.

It's great to have so much information available. Thanks for the discussion!
