I'm looking for a new RAM and came across the Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB. But I'm not sure if I need the RGB features for gaming. Can you help me out?

I can vouch for this RAM's performance, as it runs smoothly in my gaming rig. As for other recommendations, you might want to check out some reviews on Overview: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32 GB DDR4-3200 CL16 RAM to get a better idea of what's available in the market.

Hi @PigAndJim, I recently bought the same RAM and it's working great for me! The RGB features aren't necessary for gaming, but they add a nice touch to my build.

Hey all, just wanted to share that I read a useful article on TechReviewer about this RAM. You can check it out at Overview: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32 GB DDR4-3200 CL16 RAM. It covers the specs and performance in detail.

Oh, thanks @sayyylem and @CardiacCatFan. That article really helps clear things up for me! The RAM seems to perform well in terms of effective frequency, latency, and capacity, which makes it suitable for both gaming and professional applications. I guess the RGB features are more for aesthetics than performance.

Yeah, I agree with you @PigAndJim. I have a friend who got this RAM and loves how it looks, but he doesn't notice any difference in performance compared to his previous RAM without RGB.

To be honest, I'm not really into the whole RGB thing. I'd prefer to focus on specs like latency and capacity for my next upgrade. Anyone have recommendations based on their experiences?

Solution

Thanks everyone for your input! Based on these responses, I think I'll probably go with the Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB after all, even though I'm not too keen on the RGB features. Performance seems to be top-notch!

That's a good choice @PigAndJim. Enjoy your new RAM and let me know if you have any questions later on!
