I'm thinking of getting a soundbar to go along with my new Hisense 40A4K TV. Can anyone recommend a good budget-friendly option?

Hey, @paulsmoku. I have the same TV and I opted for the Polk Audio Signa S4 Ultra-Slim Sound Bar. It's quite affordable and works great with my TV. There's an overview in this article Best Soundbars for the Hisense 40" 40A4K TV.

That's a good pick, @Lexi2000. The Signa S4 has HDMI audio support for eARC and optical input, as well as Bluetooth support, which makes it a versatile choice.

Thanks for the suggestion, @Lexi2000 and @Livinglifelite. I was also considering the Sony HT-A5000. Any thoughts on that one?

I just got my Hisense 40A4K TV last week and I'm thinking of getting a soundbar too. The Polk Audio Signa S4 seems like a good option, but what about the Sony HT-A5000? How does it compare to the Signa S4?

The Sony HT-A5000 is a great option as well. It's a top soundbar with 5.1.2ch Dolby Atmos support and surround sound capabilities. However, the Polk Audio Signa S4 offers Bluetooth support which can be quite useful.

Good point @Livinglifelite. In my case, I needed something that could easily connect to my phone for music playback, hence the Signa S4 was the better choice for me.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. It seems like both options are good. I'll have to read more about them and see which one fits my needs better. By the way, what's the deal with HDMI ARC/eARC? How important is it?

HDMI ARC/eARC support is crucial if you want to pass through high-quality audio signals from your TV to the soundbar without any degradation. The Sony HT-A5000 supports eARC, so it should work well with your Hisense 40A4K TV.

That's right, @Livinglifelite. HDMI ARC/eARC makes a huge difference when using a soundbar with my TV. I can control the volume with my TV remote and get lossless audio from my TV's built-in apps.

Great information, guys. Thanks for all your help. I'll definitely look into these options further and make an informed decision. Have a good one!
