I'm looking to buy a new motherboard and was wondering if the Intel Core i3-10100 CPU is compatible with different chipsets. Could anyone recommend which one would be best for this CPU?

Thanks for the info, @billyshpilkis. Also, I found a great article discussing which chipsets are compatible with this processor: Which Chipsets Work With Intel's Core i3-10100 CPU?. It goes into detail about the different options available and their features.

The Intel Core i3-10100 CPU is indeed compatible with various chipsets from both 400-series and 500-series. For general use, the H510 or B560 should work well.

That's really helpful, @lousiana! I appreciate you sharing that link. Just to clarify, would you recommend the H510 or B560 for a home office setup?

For a home office setup, either the H510 or B560 should work just fine. The choice depends on your specific needs and budget.

I recently got an MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Carbon WiFi motherboard for my Intel Core i3-10100 CPU, and it's been running great! It has a lot of features and support for up to 128 GB DDR4 memory. I would recommend it if you're looking for a feature-rich option.

That sounds awesome, @bastibraune. Thanks for sharing your experience with that motherboard. I'll definitely consider it as a potential option!

No problem, @rwinkler! It's always great to hear from people who have tried out different hardware setups.

One thing to note is that the MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Carbon WiFi is based on the older Z490 chipset, which does not support overclocking for the Intel Core i3-10100 CPU. Just something to keep in mind if you're looking to push your CPU beyond its default clock speeds.

Good point, @lousiana. Thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure to research more about the chipsets and their capabilities before making a decision.

Sounds like a plan, @rwinkler. Good luck with your search!
