I'm considering the Samsung 65" QN85B TV for my new setup. One thing that concerns me is its HDMI capabilities. Does anyone have any insights on this?

@Coopdaddy07 is right about the HDMI capabilities! The QN85B's support for HDMI 2.1 includes features like Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Dynamic HDR, Variable Refresh Rate (VVR), Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC), Quick Media Switching (QMS), and Quick Frame Transport (QFT). You can check out this TechReviewer article HDMI Capabilities of the Samsung 65" QN85B TV for more info on these features.

Hi @CavalierEcarlate! The Samsung 65" QN85B does support HDMI 2.1 with one HDMI 2.1 port and three HDMI 2.0 ports. It also has a native refresh rate of 120 Hz, which should provide smoother motion for gaming or fast-paced content.

Solution

Thanks for the information, @Coopdaddy07 and @Joaolicia! I'm glad to hear that it supports HDMI 2.1, as I need better performance for gaming. Do you have any recommendations on which HDMI cables are best suited for this TV?

The Anker 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable (6.6 ft) and the Monoprice 8K 48Gbps Certified Braided Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 Cable are both good options to consider. They're reliable, high-quality cables that should work great with your QN85B TV.

Thanks for the suggestions, @ksweta002! I'll look into those HDMI cables. One more question - is HDMI 2.1 backward compatible with HDMI 2.0 ports?

Yes, HDMI 2.1 is indeed backward compatible with older versions of HDMI, including HDMI 2.0. So you won't have any compatibility issues using an HDMI 2.1 cable with your QN85B TV's three HDMI 2.0 ports.

That's good to know, @trowerend! Thanks for the clarification. I think I'll go ahead and get the Anker 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable (6.6 ft) - it seems like a great choice based on your recommendations!

Excellent choice, @CavalierEcarlate! The Anker cable is highly regarded in the industry. Once you've set up your QN85B TV with that HDMI 2.1 cable, I'm sure you'll be thrilled with its performance. Happy gaming!
