I've been thinking about overclocking my GTX 1080 Ti and need some advice on the best power supply unit (PSU) to choose. Anyone have any recommendations?
PSU for GTX 1080 Ti Overclocking?

Hey @PantherzYT, I'm also planning to overclock my GPU soon! According to this TechReviewer article Choosing the Best PSU for Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU, it's important to consider factors like power output, efficiency ratings, connectors, modular cables, cable lengths, and form factors when choosing a PSU for your GTX 1080 Ti. It might be helpful for you too!
Thanks for the advice, @lizz0188. I was thinking of going with the Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 Series as it has good reviews and seems to fit my requirements. What about you?
I've heard that EVGA SuperNOVA G5 Series is also a great choice for GTX 1080 Ti overclocking. They have good power efficiency and come in different wattages, so you can choose according to your specific needs.
Yeah, both @PantherzYT and @IAmStardustOK mentioned some solid options. But it's not just about the PSU, buddy. Overclocking adds extra load on the GPU, which means you'll need more cooling and possibly a better case airflow too. Don't forget to factor that in as well!
Good point, @KsGaming2. I'm also considering cable management when choosing my PSU. A modular or semi-modular design would be ideal for keeping my build neat and tidy.
Thanks everyone for the input! Based on your suggestions, I think I'll go with a Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 Series or an EVGA SuperNOVA G5 Series depending on which one offers better compatibility with my components. Appreciate all the advice!
@PantherzYT is right. It's always good to double-check PSU compatibility with your other components before making a final decision. And don't forget to enjoy the process of building and overclocking your rig, it's half the fun!
