Hey, I'm building a PC and need help choosing the best power supply unit (PSU) for an Intel Core i3-9100F CPU. Any recommendations?

Sure! The choice of a PSU depends on what components you plan to use in your system. For the Core i3-9100F, I'd recommend checking out the TechReviewer article Choosing the Best Power Supply for Intel's Core i3-9100F CPU that talks about different power supplies for Intel CPUs.

Solution

Thanks for the suggestion, @booksandbloggin. So should I go with a 750-1650 watt PSU or something else? I'm thinking of using a top-tier GPU as well.

Based on the information from TechReviewer, if you're planning to use a top-tier GPU like an Nvidia RTX 4090, you'll need a power supply that can handle at least 850 watts for all your components. A 750-1650 watt PSU should be sufficient.

That's helpful. Do you have any recommendations on which PSUs are compatible with the Core i3-9100F?

Sure! According to TechReviewer, the Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 Series 80+ Gold Full Modular ATX 3.0 PCIe Gen 5 Power Supply (750–1650 Watt) and the EVGA SuperNOVA G5 Series Fully Modular Power Supply (220-G5-0650-X1) are both compatible with the Core i3-9100F CPU.

Thanks, @booksandbloggin and @ClarknAddison. How important is efficiency when choosing a PSU? I've heard 80 PLUS ratings mentioned before but don't know much about them.

Efficiency is indeed an important factor when selecting a PSU. A higher efficiency rating means your PSU will consume less power while providing the same wattage to your components, saving you money on electricity bills in the long run. The 80 PLUS certification program offers different efficiency levels, like Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

That's great information, @Coopdaddy07. I'll definitely keep that in mind when choosing a PSU. Thanks for all your help!
