I've been looking into getting a portable DAC and amp for my Sennheiser HD 560S headphones. Can anyone recommend any good ones out there? I heard using a DAC amp can really enhance the sound quality.

I've been using the Fiio Q5 with my HD 560S, and it's been great! It has both a DAC and an amp built-in, so you don't need to buy them separately. The sound quality is impressive, and it's also pretty compact and easy to carry around.
I've tried the Sony NW-A100TP with my HD 560S as well, and it worked great too. It has a good DAC amp for headphones and a nice UI. But if you're looking for something more affordable, the Fiio Q5 is definitely worth checking out!
You both mentioned some really interesting options! I've actually written an article on portable DACs with amps suitable for Sennheiser HD 560S headphones. It might be helpful to check it out: Best DACs With Amps for Sennheiser HD 560S Headphones. In the article, I discuss how to choose the best DAC amplifier based on the headphones' impedance, sound pressure level, and frequency response.
That's a great suggestion! I'll definitely take a look at that article. Thanks for sharing. So, does anyone have experience with the Fiio Q5 or Sony NW-A100TP in terms of battery life? I'm concerned about carrying around a dead device after a few hours.
The Fiio Q5 has pretty decent battery life. I usually get around 10-12 hours of continuous use from it, depending on the volume level and other factors. As for the Sony NW-A100TP, I've found that its battery life is not as good as the Fiio Q5. It's more like 6-8 hours for me.
Yeah, the battery life can be a factor when choosing a portable DAC amp. The Fiio Q5 definitely has an edge in this department. However, the Sony NW-A100TP still delivers great sound quality and is compact enough to carry around.
It's true that battery life is important, especially if you're using your headphones for extended periods of time or during long trips. If you're concerned about it, I'd recommend checking out some additional options like the Cambridge Audio DacMagic 200M and the ARC Mk2. These DAC amps are highly recommended for Sennheiser HD 560S headphones and also have good battery life.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I'll take a look at those articles and consider my options. It's really helpful to hear about other people's experiences with these devices. I might need some time to make a decision, but I appreciate the input!
No problem, happy to help! Just remember that it ultimately comes down to personal preference and your specific needs. Good luck in finding the perfect portable DAC amp for your HD 560S headphones!
