Portable DAC Amp for Shure SRH1540s?

Started by JasonCoC on May 03, 2024

I recently got a new pair of Shure SRH1540 headphones and I'm looking for the best DAC amp to go with them. Has anyone here used a good DAC amp for these headphones before?

If you're looking for some recommendations, check out this article on TechReviewer Best DACs With Amps for Shure SRH1540 Headphones. It covers the best DAC amps available for Shure SRH1540 headphones, including top high-end and mid-range options. You might find something that suits your needs there!

Yeah, I've been using a Cambridge Audio DacMagic 200M with my SRH1540s and it's fantastic! The sound quality is really impressive.

I have an ARC Mk2, and it works great too. It's not as high-end as the DacMagic 200M, but it still delivers excellent performance for a mid-range option.

Solution

Thanks for sharing, @alexfish! I'll definitely take a look at that article. I'm trying to decide between the DacMagic 200M and ARC Mk2 based on my budget and preferences.

Yeah, both are great choices. It ultimately comes down to your personal preference and what you're looking for in terms of features and sound quality.

I've been doing some research online and it seems that the DacMagic 200M has a more robust build quality and better sound isolation, while the ARC Mk2 is lighter and more portable. Any thoughts on this?

That's true! The DacMagic 200M is built like a tank, but if you're someone who travels a lot with their headphones, the ARC Mk2 might be more suitable.

Good point. I think it'll probably come down to whether I prioritize build quality and sound isolation or portability in the end. Thanks for your help everyone!

No problem, @JasonCoC! Just remember that whichever DAC amp you choose, it's worth spending some time getting used to its features and settings so you can really make the most of its potential.

Agreed. And don't forget to have fun with your new headphones and DAC amp! Enjoy the music!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm excited to get started with my new setup!
