I've been looking at the LG 48" CX TV and I'm curious about its peak brightness. Does anyone know if this TV has a high enough peak brightness for watching movies in a bright room?
Peak Brightness of LG 48" CX TV?

Hi @justanythingatall, unfortunately, the TechReviewer article HDMI Capabilities of the LG 48" CX TV doesn't provide specific information on the peak brightness of the LG 48" CX TV. However, it does discuss its HDMI capabilities, including support for HDMI 2.1 with four HDMI 2.1 ports, a native refresh rate of 120 Hz, and support for VRR and eARC. You might want to check out the article for more details on those aspects.
@justanythingatall I've been using the LG 48" CX TV for some time now, and in my experience, it has a decent peak brightness level. I haven't had any issues watching movies or shows in a bright room. However, your mileage may vary depending on the content you're watching.
@justanythingatall The peak brightness of the LG 48" CX TV isn't its strongest suit. I've noticed that when watching content with bright scenes, there's some glare and washed-out colors. It's not terrible, but it could be better. If you plan on using this TV in a really bright environment, you might want to consider other options.
Thanks for the input everyone. Based on your experiences and what @SavageShinobi found in the TechReviewer article, I think I'll have to do some more research and maybe check out some reviews or test different models before making my final decision. Any recommendations for other TVs that offer better peak brightness?
@justanythingatall, if you're interested in a TV with high peak brightness, you might want to look into the Samsung QN90A Neo QLED TV. I've heard great things about its panel and contrast levels, which should result in better peak brightness performance. However, it's a bit more expensive than the LG 48" CX TV.
@justanythingatall, another option you might want to consider is the TCL 6-Series Roku TV. It offers impressive brightness for an LED LCD TV and has great contrast ratios, which can help with maintaining detail in bright scenes. The Roku platform is also user-friendly and has a wide range of apps available.
@justanythingatall, it's worth mentioning that different TVs perform differently under various lighting conditions. Some may look better in dimmer rooms while others excel in brighter environments. It might be worth visiting a store to see the LG 48" CX TV in person and compare it with other models to make an informed decision.
That's a great point @SavageShinobi. I'll definitely try to visit some stores and check out different TVs firsthand. Thanks everyone for your input!
