I've been researching RAM options for my new build and came across the Patriot Viper 4 Blackout. Has anyone used this before? It's got an effective frequency of 3000 MHz and a capacity of 8 GB (2 x 4 GB).

Yeah, I've been using it in my rig for a couple months now! It works great for me. The article Overview: Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 8 GB DDR4-3000 CL16 RAM gives you a good overview of its specs.
That's awesome to hear! What do you think about the 3000 MHz frequency and CL16 latency? Is that fast enough for gaming?
I'm not an expert on RAM, but from my experience with it, it seems adequate. It doesn't give me any issues in-game or while working on demanding projects.
To add to what @novaryu10 said, the TechReviewer article Overview: Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 8 GB DDR4-3000 CL16 RAM goes into detail about how these specs stack up against other options. I would say for most users, this RAM is more than sufficient.
That's good to know! It seems like it'd be a solid choice for my build. Any advice on other factors I should consider when choosing RAM?
Sure, apart from the specs, you might want to look into the brand reputation and warranty as well. Also, make sure that your motherboard is compatible with this RAM.
Great points! Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll take all of this into consideration when making my decision.
