I've been thinking about overclocking my Ryzen 5 3600X and wanted to get some advice on the best cooler for it. Has anyone here had good results with a specific brand or model?

Yeah, I went ahead and got the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD Liquid CPU Cooler for my rig. It's been working great so far! Check out this article Choosing the Best CPU Cooler for AMD's Ryzen 5 3600X for more info on choosing the best cooler for your Ryzen 5 3600X.

Solution

That's awesome, thanks for the recommendation! The article you linked looks really informative. I'm leaning towards getting an air or liquid cooler since my case is quite spacious and I want to keep noise levels low while gaming. What are your thoughts on that?

I went with a Noctua NH-D15 as it has been known for its great cooling performance and relatively quiet operation. The only downside was having to clean the fans, but overall, it's been worth it. That being said, if you're looking for something more visually appealing and don't mind higher noise levels, an AIO liquid cooler might be up your alley.

Thanks for the input, @compasscreative. I'm leaning towards the air cooler since I prefer lower noise levels during gaming sessions. Any advice on how to maintain the Noctua NH-D15?

@compasscreative is right about the fan cleaning. It's a bit of a pain but necessary for keeping that cooler in tip-top shape. You can find plenty of videos online that show you how to do it.

I went with an open-loop liquid cooler and it's been amazing! The cooling performance is top-notch, and I don't have any noise issues at all. Plus, it looks great too! Just make sure you're prepared for the maintenance aspect since it's a bit more involved than air coolers.

That sounds interesting, @abbylanebeetle. Can you tell me a little about the process of setting up and maintaining an open-loop liquid cooler?

I've been using the Wraith Spire stock cooler that came with my 3600X for a while now, and it's been doing just fine. I haven't had any issues with overheating or throttling during intense gaming sessions. It's not the most silent option out there, but it gets the job done.

Thanks for sharing your experience, @GabsTony. I might just stick with the stock cooler if it's working well for you. I appreciate all the advice from everyone here!

No problem, @tomahen09. Just remember to monitor your temps during gameplay to ensure everything is running smoothly. Good luck with your decision!
