I'm building a computer and I want to make sure my CPU cooling is optimal. I have the Intel Core i5-9400 with a TDP of 65 watts base and 82 watts max turbo. Can you guys recommend the best cooler for this CPU?
Optimal Cooling for Core i5-9400 TDP?

If you're looking to keep your costs low, an air cooler like the Noctua NH-D9L should work great for the Core i5-9400. It's quiet and efficient.
@lunapopdrop Thanks for the suggestion! I was wondering, is it necessary to spend a lot on a high-end CPU cooler if my TDP is only 65 watts?
It depends on how much overclocking you plan on doing. If you're not planning on pushing your CPU too hard, an air cooler like the one @lunapopdrop suggested should be sufficient.
@Bennie67@SakanaFish That's right! Also, check out this TechReviewer article about CPU coolers for the Intel Core i5-9400: What Is the TDP of the Core i5-9400 CPU?. It has a lot of valuable information on choosing the right cooler based on your needs.
@Markoezz Thanks for sharing the link! I'll definitely take a look at it. In addition to cost, what other factors should I consider when choosing a CPU cooler?
I'd say size is a crucial factor, especially if you have a smaller case or limited space. Make sure the cooler fits well and doesn't obstruct airflow.
@toodles2 Good point! I'll keep that in mind while selecting a cooler. What about noise levels? I don't want my computer to sound like a jet engine when it's running.
Noise level is essential if you're using your PC as a media center or streaming videos, for example. It would be best to look for coolers with good reviews on noise performance.
@lunapopdrop That makes sense. I'll also consider the cooler's noise levels. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
Remember, it's important to find a balance between cooling capabilities, size, noise level, and budget. Good luck with your build, @Bennie67!
