I recently bought a new PC and am looking to invest in some quality RAM. Has anyone here used the OLOy OWL 16 GB DDR4-3000 RAM? Is it suitable for server usage?

It's definitely worth doing some more research and maybe even checking out some reviews on TechReviewer before making a decision. Here's a link to their article that discusses various DDR4 modules, including the OLOy OWL: Overview: OLOy OWL 16 GB DDR4-3000 CL16 RAM.

Yes, I've used that RAM before. It worked well for me on my gaming rig. However, I'm not sure about its suitability for a server environment.

I have used the OLOy OWL 16 GB DDR4-3000 in a server setup before. It performed decently but wasn't as reliable as I would've liked. The system crashed a few times due to what seemed like RAM-related issues.

That's interesting. What kind of issues did you face with the OLOy OWL RAM? Maybe I should consider a different option for my server setup.

Solution

Thanks for sharing the link, @Nanomachines-Son! I'll definitely check it out. Are there any other RAM options you'd recommend for server usage? I'm looking for something more reliable and stable.

Based on my experience, Corsair Vengeance LPX or G.Skill Ripjaws V series would be better choices for a server setup. They are known to provide better performance and reliability compared to the OLOy OWL RAM.

I agree with @SamuraiShareef. I've used both Corsair and G.Skill RAMs in my servers, and they have been more reliable than the OLOy OWL. It's always a good idea to check out multiple reviews before making your final decision.

Thanks for all the input! I'll look into the Corsair Vengeance LPX and G.Skill Ripjaws V series as well. I appreciate the advice from everyone here!

No problem, happy to help! Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Good luck with your server setup!
