I've been looking at getting a new monitor and have narrowed it down to the MSI 27" Optix G273QF and Dell 27" S2721DGF. Just wanted some opinions on which one would be better for gaming. Also, I'm not sure if I should prioritize refresh rate or resolution.

@eyesofjune, both of these monitors have fantastic specifications for gaming. The TechReviewer article MSI 27" Optix G273QF vs. Dell 27" S2721DGF does an excellent job comparing the two, including their features like resolution, refresh rate, response time, and color accuracy. I would suggest reading it to get a better understanding of which monitor might suit your needs better.

Both of these monitors are great choices! Personally, I prefer the MSI G273QF because it has a higher refresh rate (165Hz compared to Dell's 144Hz). For gaming, having a higher refresh rate can make a significant difference in smoothness and responsiveness.

@Defication! I'll check out that TechReviewer article you mentioned. Just based on what you've said here, though, does the higher refresh rate make up for the lower resolution in terms of gaming performance?

It really depends on the type of games you play and your personal preferences. Higher resolutions can provide a more immersive experience, especially in games that feature a lot of textures or detail. However, if you prioritize smoothness and responsiveness in fast-paced games, a higher refresh rate might be more important for you.

@eyesofjune, I've used both these monitors and found them to be great for gaming. Personally, I prefer the S2721DGF because of its better color accuracy and smaller size which fits perfectly on my desk. It really comes down to what you value most in a gaming monitor.

@wanderingdove, that's true! It ultimately depends on your specific needs and preferences. @eyesofjune, don't forget about factors like build quality, ergonomic features, and connectivity options too when making your decision. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll read the TechReviewer article MSI 27" Optix G273QF vs. Dell 27" S2721DGF and consider all of your suggestions before making my final decision. Appreciate the input!
