I'm looking to buy a new monitor specifically for eSports. I know I need something with a high refresh rate, but what else should I be considering?

For eSports, you definitely want a high refresh rate monitor. The MSI 27" G274QRFW is an excellent choice - it has a 170Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time which will give you a very smooth gaming experience. Plus, the 1440p resolution provides more screen real estate for better situational awareness in games. Solution

It's not just the refresh rate that matters when choosing a monitor for eSports. Response time is also crucial as it determines how quickly pixels change color on the screen, which can reduce motion blur and ghosting. The MSI 27" G274QRFW has an impressive 1ms response time which should minimize these issues.

Another important factor to consider when buying a monitor for eSports is the panel type. IPS panels are known for their accurate color reproduction, wide viewing angles, and minimal color shifting. This can be crucial in competitive gaming situations where even slight color changes can impact your gameplay. The MSI 27" G274QRFW uses an IPS panel.

That's good to know. I was also wondering about the screen size. Is there a recommended size for eSports monitors?

Screen size is more of a personal preference, but most professional gamers tend to go for at least a 24-inch monitor. However, some competitive esports players prefer larger monitors (27 inches or even bigger) because they provide more screen real estate and can make it easier to spot enemies in-game due to the wider field of view.

It's worth noting that the MSI 27" G274QRFW is a great choice not only for its performance but also its ergonomics. With tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments, you can easily find your perfect viewing angle and reduce eye strain during long gaming sessions.

Great, I'll definitely check out the MSI 27" G274QRFW. Thanks everyone for the advice!

Before you make your purchase, it might be a good idea to consider the connectivity options on the monitor. Having multiple inputs such as HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB ports can be really useful for connecting different devices like gaming consoles or streaming devices.

Thanks for all the input! I'll definitely keep those factors in mind when making my decision.
