Solution

Thanks for the advice, @computime! The article you linked was really helpful. Just to clarify though, there won't be any problems if I decide to use different brands for my RAM?

I've been using a mix of brands with my Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-6000 and it's worked just fine for me. You can definitely do it without worrying too much. The key is to make sure the modules are compatible with your motherboard.

Ah, got it. Thanks for the input, @RemondBall. So as long as my modules are compatible with my mobo, mixing brands shouldn't be an issue then? Just need to do some more research on that part I guess.

Exactly, @matthewterence. Compatibility is the main concern when mixing brands. As long as you're confident in your RAM's compatibility with your motherboard, you should have no problem running a mixed-brand setup. Good luck with your build!

I've heard some people say that it's better to stick with one brand for RAM. What are your thoughts on this? Has anyone tried mixing brands and seen any negative effects?

Well, @spencerfitch, from my experience, there aren't really any negative effects when it comes to mixing brands as long as the modules are compatible. It's more about convenience and personal preference. Some people prefer using a single brand for ease of use, but I don't see any drawbacks in mixing them.

Thanks everyone for your input! I think I'll go ahead and mix brands since it doesn't seem to cause any issues. Just have to make sure the modules are compatible with my motherboard, right?

That's correct, @matthewterence. As long as you take care of compatibility, mixing brands shouldn't be a problem. Good luck with your build!
