I recently bought a new Sony X85J TV and am wondering what's the maximum resolution my HDMI ports can support. Can anyone help me out?

@sunsplashedpoet, did you check out this TechReviewer article HDMI Capabilities of the Sony 50" BRAVIA X85J TV? It has all the details about the Sony X85J's HDMI capabilities, including the maximum resolution for each port.

The Sony X85J has four HDMI ports in total, with two HDMI 2.1 ports and two HDMI 2.0 ports. For the best performance, you should use an HDMI 2.1 cable with one of these ports.

Thanks for sharing that link, @lousiana! I found it helpful. The article states that the Sony X85J supports a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels for its HDMI ports. This means you can connect devices like gaming consoles or Blu-ray players and enjoy high-quality visuals.

That's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks to everyone for their help. Now I just need to find the right HDMI cable to go with my TV.

You're welcome, @sunsplashedpoet. I would recommend going with a good quality HDMI 2.1 cable for optimal performance. I personally use Monoprice 8K 48Gbps Certified Braided Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 Cable and have been happy with its performance.

I agree with @Yugiboy12. The Anker 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable (6.6 ft) is another great option. It's durable, supports high resolutions up to 8K, and has fast transfer rates. You can't go wrong with either of these cables for your Sony X85J.

Thanks again everyone! I'll take a look at those cables you suggested. Have a great day!
