Max Resolution for LG 75" QNED90 HDMI Ports?

Started by IPWatcher on July 11, 2024

I'm looking at buying a new TV and I'm wondering if the LG 75" QNED90 has any limitations when it comes to max resolution for its HDMI ports? I've been reading a lot about HDMI 2.1 but I'm not sure what that means exactly.

Hey @BvShadow, I've been using the LG 75" QNED90 for a while now and it's great for gaming! The VRR support really makes a difference, as it eliminates screen tearing and input lag. You can read more about it in the TechReviewer article HDMI Capabilities of the LG 75" QNED90 TV.

Hey @IPWatcher, the LG 75" QNED90 does support resolutions up to 10K, which is pretty impressive! You can find more information on this in the TechReviewer article HDMI Capabilities of the LG 75" QNED90 TV. As for HDMI 2.1, it basically allows for faster refresh rates and higher resolutions compared to HDMI 2.0.

Thanks for the info, @Minime1251. I'm especially interested in gaming and how the different HDMI versions affect that. Does anyone have experience with using this TV for gaming?

That's awesome to hear, @catmantown. I'm glad to know that it performs well for gaming. I'm still a bit confused about the refresh rate though. Is there any difference between 60 Hz and 120 Hz when it comes to gaming?

Hey @IPWatcher, yes there is! A higher refresh rate like 120 Hz provides smoother motion in games, which can be really noticeable during fast-paced gameplay. I've personally noticed a big difference when playing games on my 120 Hz TV compared to my old 60 Hz one.

Thanks for the explanation, @OlympianDWill. That makes sense. I'm starting to lean towards getting this TV for gaming and watching movies. The more I read, the more convinced I am that it's a great choice.

It sounds like a good option to me too, @BvShadow. I'll keep researching and make my decision soon. Thanks everyone for all the information!
