I'm looking for advice on the max HDMI resolutions this TV supports. I've heard different things, could you help me out?

I'm not sure about that. You might want to check out this article for more details: HDMI Capabilities of the LG 50" NANO75 TV.

Sure! The LG 50" NANO75 TV supports a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels for 4K content at 60 Hz via its HDMI 2.0 ports. It also has a native refresh rate of 120 Hz, which should make motion look really smooth!

Thanks @HabaneroSauce! Does it support any higher resolutions or faster refresh rates with the HDMI 2.1 ports?

Solution

Yeah, I looked into it and from what I gathered, the TV does not support HDMI 2.1, so no higher resolutions or faster refresh rates than what @HabaneroSauce mentioned.

I had a similar question a while back and after reading up on it, I found that the TV supports Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) functionality with the TV's HDMI 2.1 port. However, it does not support Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

That's helpful information @dixiebug7. Thanks for sharing! So, to summarize, the max resolution is 4K at 60Hz and it has a native refresh rate of 120Hz?

Exactly, @PmThayer!

Remember that if you're into gaming, not having VRR might be a bummer. But for regular content viewing, this TV should still perform well.

Yeah, I guess it depends on what you're using it for. For me, it's working great for watching movies and the occasional video game.

This was really helpful. I'll have to think about whether I want to spring for a different TV if VRR is important to me.

No problem, @PmThayer! Good luck with your decision!

Same here, good luck!
