Liquid-Cooled PSU for Intel Core i7-12700F?

Started by sottocasa on June 20, 2024

I've recently built a PC with an Intel Core i7-12700F CPU and I'm looking for some advice on choosing the best liquid-cooled power supply (PSU) for it. Can anyone recommend any good ones?

One thing to keep in mind is that not all components may work well with liquid cooling, so make sure to do your research and ensure compatibility before investing in a liquid-cooled PSU. The TechReviewer article Choosing the Best Power Supply for Intel's Core i7-12700F CPU covers this aspect as well.

I'd suggest checking out the Corsair AX1600i Titanium 1600W 80 PLUS Titanium Certified Modular ATX Power Supply Unit. It has a great efficiency rating and can handle your i7-12700F CPU's power requirements with ease.

Another option to consider is the EVGA SuperNOVA 750 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular Power Supply. It offers high performance, reliability, and flexibility for your build.

In addition to what @Mauronic said, I'd recommend reading this TechReviewer article Choosing the Best Power Supply for Intel's Core i7-12700F CPU that discusses how to choose a power supply for the Intel Core i7-12700F CPU based on its power consumption and other factors. It covers everything you need to know about the best PSUs for your build.

Thanks for the recommendations! I'll definitely check out both of those options. After reading @AstroColton's link, what are your thoughts on adding a liquid cooling system to my PSU? Would it be beneficial or just an unnecessary expense?

It really depends on your budget and how much noise you want in your build. Liquid cooling for the PSU can be more expensive upfront, but it can help reduce temperatures significantly compared to air cooling. If heat dissipation is a concern and you're willing to spend extra, then it might be worth considering.

True! Also, liquid-cooled PSUs are usually quieter than their air-cooled counterparts, which could be a plus if you're building a quiet office PC or a gaming rig where silence is key.

Great advice! I'll have to look into the compatibility of my other components with a liquid-cooled PSU. Thanks everyone for the help!
