LG 77" GX TV HDMI Port Limit?

Started by Evangel59 on June 10, 2024

I recently bought an LG 77" GX TV, and I'm curious to know if there's a limit on the number of devices that can be connected via the HDMI ports? Has anyone tried connecting multiple devices like a soundbar, gaming console, Blu-ray player, etc., and faced any issues?

I came across a TechReviewer article HDMI Capabilities of the LG 77" GX TV discussing the HDMI capabilities of the LG 77" GX TV. According to the article, you can connect up to four devices via its HDMI 2.1 ports. However, keep in mind that each device should have their own power source and ensure the cables are securely connected.

Hi @Evangel59, I've been using my LG 77" GX TV for a few months now. I'm able to connect all my devices without any problems. I have a soundbar connected via HDMI ARC and a Blu-ray player as well. No issues so far.

That's great to hear, @makeitwitu. I was worried about the limitations of HDMI ports on this TV. So, is there really no limit to the number of devices that can be connected?

Solution

Thank you, @mlikesknowledge, for sharing the TechReviewer article. It's really helpful! So, if I connect all my devices like a soundbar, Blu-ray player, gaming console, etc., to the four HDMI 2.1 ports, should I expect any issues? And what is the best way to manage these connections?

No major issues have been reported with connecting multiple devices to the LG 77" GX TV's HDMI ports. However, you might need to use a switch or a hub if you want to connect more devices than the available HDMI ports allow. Also, make sure your power sources are reliable and secure.

Thanks for the advice, @Chiefshow. So, using a switch or a hub is a good solution when dealing with limited HDMI ports? I'm still a bit confused about how to properly manage these connections.

@Evangel59, a switch or a hub can help you connect more devices than your TV has available HDMI ports. Basically, it allows you to plug multiple HDMI cables into one port on the switch or hub, which then routes the signal to the correct device. You'll need to consult the user manual of the switch or hub for specific instructions on how to set up and manage these connections.

That makes sense! Thank you, @mlikesknowledge. I think I'll look into getting a good quality switch or hub to manage my multiple HDMI connections. Appreciate your help!

Great to hear, @Evangel59! I'm glad you found the information helpful. Let us know how it goes with setting up the switch or hub if you have any questions.

Will do, @FuzzySets! Thanks again everyone for the advice and support!
