LG 65" C1 TV Refresh Rate?

Started by lebaneseblonde on May 15, 2024

I'm considering buying an LG 65" C1 TV, but I'm a bit confused about the refresh rate. Can anyone provide some insight on this topic? I've heard that having a higher refresh rate is important for gaming and fast-paced content.

If you're interested in learning more about the LG 65" C1 TV's HDMI capabilities, including its refresh rate and support for VRR and eARC, check out this TechReviewer article HDMI Capabilities of the LG 65" C1 TV. It provides detailed information that might help you make an informed decision.

The LG 65" C1 TV has a native refresh rate of 120 Hz, which should provide smooth motion for fast-paced content like games or action movies. This will make the motion appear more fluid compared to TVs with lower refresh rates.

I've noticed that higher refresh rates do make a difference in gaming, especially for fast-paced games. But for movies and shows, I haven't really noticed much of a difference between 60 Hz and 120 Hz. It depends on personal preference and what you mostly watch on your TV.

Thanks, @booksandbloggin, for sharing that link. I'll definitely take a look at it. Can anyone recommend any good HDMI cables for the LG 65" C1 TV?

I've been using the Anker 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable (6.6 ft) with my LG 65" C1, and it's worked great so far. It supports up to 10K resolutions at 120 Hz and has an ultra-fast data transfer rate for seamless high-quality video and audio.

I've also had good luck with the Monoprice 8K 48Gbps Certified Braided Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 Cable. It's durable, supports all the latest features like VRR and eARC, and is reasonably priced.

I went with the AmazonBasics Premium High-Speed HDMI Cable (6ft) for my setup. It's a more affordable option but still delivers good performance. Just keep in mind that it doesn't support HDMI 2.1 features, so if you need those, you'll want to go with one of the other recommendations.

Good point, @AndItsDrew. The AmazonBasics cable is great for basic use and lower resolutions, but if you plan on using the LG 65" C1 TV's full potential for gaming or high-resolution content, an HDMI 2.1 cable like the ones mentioned by @IconistSF and @Detour7miles will give you better performance.

Thanks everyone for your input! Based on your suggestions, I think I'll go with an HDMI 2.1 cable to ensure that I'm getting the best possible performance from my LG 65" C1 TV. Appreciate it!
