I recently purchased an LG 65" C1 TV, and I'm curious about its HDR capabilities. Can anyone provide some insight on this? I've read that it doesn't have built-in HDR, but I'm not sure what that means.
LG 65" C1 - HDR Capabilities?

Welcome to the forum, @sassycass830! The LG 65" C1 does indeed support HDR, but it's not a feature built directly into the TV. Rather, it relies on external devices like streaming boxes and gaming consoles to provide HDR content. In other words, you'll need to ensure that your content sources are capable of delivering HDR for you to enjoy it on your TV.
To add some context, @DomanoSV, you might find this TechReviewer article HDMI Capabilities of the LG 65" C1 TV helpful in understanding the HDMI capabilities of the LG 65" C1. It covers the HDMI features and how they relate to HDR support on the TV.
Thanks for the info, @lumberjackshirt. That article really cleared up my confusion about whether the TV supports HDR or not. I'm just glad it's capable of delivering high-quality visuals!
@mikebwesty Yes, me too! The picture quality on this TV is incredible. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it performs with some HDR content.
That's great to hear, @sassycass830. You'll definitely enjoy the enhanced colors and contrast when watching HDR content. Just make sure your devices are capable of delivering HDR, or you won't be able to take full advantage of the feature.
I've been using my LG 65" C1 with a Roku streaming stick, which supports HDR, and I must say the difference in picture quality is night and day compared to when I was using a standard definition streaming device. The colors are so vibrant, and everything just pops on the screen.
@Themainfox14 Your experience aligns with what I've been reading – it seems that having a device capable of delivering HDR content makes all the difference. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I'm starting to understand why some people go crazy over HDR. It really does make watching TV and movies much more immersive. Can't wait to see how my LG 65" C1 handles it.
You're right, @sassycass830, the immersion factor is definitely one of the main reasons people love HDR. The enhanced colors and contrast really bring content to life. Enjoy your new TV and the HDR experience!
I'll definitely keep that in mind, @DomanoSV. Thanks for the advice, everyone! Have a great day!
