Started by Pavlador on May 25, 2024

I'm considering getting the LG 34" 34WN750-B monitor for gaming, but I'm not sure if it's a good choice. Can anyone share their experience with this monitor or provide any insights?

@smartmilk Ghosting isn't too big of an issue if you're willing to tweak the settings a bit. The TechReviewer article Is the LG 34" 34WN750-B Good for Gaming? goes into detail about various gaming monitors and their performance, including the LG 34WN750-B. The LG 34WN750-B is an excellent monitor for gaming. I've been using one for several months now, and it has significantly improved my gaming experience. The resolution of 3440 x 1440 provides a lot more detail compared to the standard 1080p or even 1440p. Additionally, the 75 Hz refresh rate ensures smooth gameplay, while the IPS panel offers great color accuracy and wide viewing angles.

I have the same monitor, and it's amazing for gaming! The ultra-wide screen provides a much more immersive experience, especially in FPS games like Overwatch or Call of Duty. However, I did encounter some issues with ghosting when playing fast-paced games at high refresh rates.

Solution

@plisskenjones Thanks for sharing your experience! I'll definitely read the TechReviewer article you suggested. How about the response time? Is it fast enough for gaming?

The response time of 5 ms is good, but not the best. For even smoother gameplay, I'd recommend looking into monitors with a 1 ms or lower response time. However, this LG monitor still delivers an excellent overall gaming experience.

I recently switched from a 1080p monitor to the LG 34WN750-B, and the difference in detail and clarity is night and day. I'm really happy with my purchase, even if it took me some time to get used to the ultra-wide aspect ratio.

@LionLambert That's great to hear! The ultra-wide screen does take some getting used to, but once you adapt, it can be a game-changer.

@Pavlador I agree with @LionLambert. Once you adjust to the ultra-wide aspect ratio, it really enhances the gaming experience. Just make sure you have enough desk space for it.

Yeah, that's true. It took me some time to find a comfortable setup, but now that I've adjusted, I can't imagine going back to a standard monitor.

@plisskenjones @LionLambert @smartmilk Thanks for your insights! I'll definitely give the LG 34WN750-B a try and see if it works for me. I'm looking forward to experiencing the ultra-wide screen and improved detail.
